    Michael at The Cabin.
    Michael comes up from Plainfield NJ for a surprise Spring weekend getaway with his dog Lady at the The Cabin. They rest, admire the bloodroot and trillium, hike Stonehouse Road and take a closer look at the Red House. The pitcher pump works after a long Winter. The doors and windows are open. Michael gets some writing done.

     The Adirondacks and 'Fourpeaks' are the most placid places on the East coast. I had a great visit at the Old Barn last Summer. Loved the hammock you had there and bought one of my own at a craftshop in Upper Jay--where they make them.     (7) Ebenezer and Rattlesnake Knob from the old Indian swing.
    8) The Cabin, old Indian swing, hammocks in fenced yard. Fireplace portion (1946), log cabin portion (1966), front porch (1970).
    (9) The Red House. Nineteenth century homesite. The Cannery for the Lake Placid Club vegetable farm (1920's). Owned by the Boughtons and their friends (1930-1970). (Plattsburgh schoolteacher owns it now.)

    (11) 1829 Stone House, North side, stone wall (barns and outbuildings in background on upper level above stone wall).

We well remember the visitor a year or so ago who complained about the unpleasant glare from the HTML default royal blue links. That lead us to entirely revamp our background and link colors, making them softer, more eye pleasing. And the Florida expert who warned us about frustrating visitors with blind links. We followed his advice and now carefully identify each link so visitors know before they "click" exactly where they're clicking to.
