EZ-Load Graphics on the Fourpeaks Website -Or- Our Photo Display Method Explained. Photos are used generously on the Fourpeaks website to show accommodation interiors for our Adirondack Backcountry Camps, the Adirondack Photo Gallery, the Fourpeaks Photo Guest Book, and much more. Compared to text files, the files that display photos and other graphic images are very large. They take up a lot of computer space and load into your computer memory very slowly. We do our best to keep the photo file sizes as small as possible by a display just large enough to convey the necessary image detail and by digital compression. Even so, we have a lot of photos to show for the kind of subjects listed above. If, for a particular subject, we placed all of them on one page, loading time would be excessive. For this reason any of our webpages that offer more than one or two photos will display small copies of the photos (thumbnails they're called) that link to the full size photos. The page will also carry the following message (or something similar): Click on a thumbnail and the full size photo will be displayed. Finished viewing the photo? Use the "Back" button on your browser! On some (older) page designs, clicking on a thumbnail will get you to a page with multiple full-size images. Along with the photos a message may appear, reminding you of one way to get back to the source or home page: Something like: Finished viewing the photos? Use the "Back" button on your browser or click on any one of the full size photos to return you to the source or home page for the series. Use whichever way you find more convenient. But please get back home for links to the rest of the photos!
