How to work 'em.
1) Pour water into the top of the pump as you slowly work the handle up and down. If the cup leather is making a good seal, you will feel resistace as you pump and water will come out of the spigot (from the blue container under the sink).
2) No water? Add more water in the top of pump. Wait 15 minutes. Repeat this several times to thoroughly soak the cup leather.
3) Repeat Step 1. Success? OK.
4) Pump still not working? Dispense water directly from the blue container. Phone Martin for help.
REM: Our terms of rental: "Leave it as you find it." Guests are requested to refill the 7 gal. "mini-cisterns" before departure. THANKS!
More about the Pitcher Pumps.
A smart backcountry innovation from years ago, the pump creates a weak vacuum and uses atmospheric pressure to put the water where you want it, at the kitchen sink. Each of our Fourpeaks Backcountry Cabins is equipped with a pitcher pump. Guests pump water for washing from 7 gal. "mini-cisterns" located under the sink and refill them as needed.
Water to refill is nearby. Sugar Camp, Ridge Camp and Gypsy Camp have a well right outside. Guests at the other camps fill up at the Well House or at Camp Barn. A startup supply of water for the pitcher pumps is in place for arriving guests. CLICK & GO! (On this page.) Something wrong? Get help right away! Please Rate Our Fourpeaks Website. Whether you're an experienced webmaster or just a novice surfer, you may have feedback or suggestions to help us improve. We well remember the visitor who complained about the unpleasant glare from the HTML default royal blue links. That lead us to entirely revamp our background and link colors, making them softer, more eye pleasing. And the Florida expert who warned us about frustrating visitors with blind links. We followed his advice and now carefully identify links so visitors know before they "click" exactly where they're clicking to. Your comments or suggestions will be equally appreciated.
