Our Fourpeaks privies are private outdoor toilets in quiet natural surroundings with a long history of satisfied users. A privy is an outhouse--a dry toilet out-of-doors in which human waste is allowed to naturally decompose. The Oldfashion Pitcher Pump. (A backcountry innovation that puts the water where you want it.) Each of our Fourpeaks Backcountry Cabins is equipped with an old-fashion pitcher pump right at the kitchen sink. Guests pump water for washing from 7 gal. "mini-cisterns" located under the sink and refill them as needed. A startup supply of water for the pitcher pumps is in place for arriving guests. Water to refill is nearby. Guests are requested to refill the 7 gal. "mini-cisterns" before departure. Our terms of rental: "Leave it as you find it." An Adirondack Utopia. It was as if The Creator grabbed a hunk of mountain, pressed a divine thumb into that lump of clay, and hid it where only a select, blessed few could find it.
